Therapeutic laser, no needles

Low-level laser therapy uses gentle light at a therapeutic dose to support the body's own healing. It is painless and needle-free, and can be used on its own or alongside acupuncture.

What it is

Unlike surgical or cosmetic lasers, a therapeutic laser does not cut or burn the skin. It delivers low-intensity light to the tissue being treated, where it is used to ease pain and inflammation and to support repair.

Where it helps

Laser therapy is used for joint and muscle pain, tendon problems, nerve pain and slow recovery after injury. It also suits patients who would rather avoid needles.

  • Joint pain
  • Muscle & tendon pain
  • Nerve pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Stiff neck & shoulders
  • Needle-free option

What it feels like

Most people feel nothing, or a mild warmth. Each area takes a few minutes, you wear protective glasses throughout, and there is no recovery time afterwards.

With acupuncture

The laser can stimulate acupuncture points without a needle (this is called laser acupuncture), or treat an area after a needle session. Dr. Issa suggests whichever suits your case.

Laser therapy, answered

Is laser therapy safe?

Low-level laser is a gentle treatment when it is used correctly. You wear protective glasses, the eyes are never treated, and we ask about pregnancy and certain conditions before starting.

Does it hurt?

No. Most patients feel nothing, or only a mild warmth.

Is this the same as laser hair removal?

No. This is a therapeutic laser for pain and healing, not a cosmetic one. It does not remove hair or treat the surface of the skin.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the problem. Your plan is set after the assessment and reviewed as you go.
